First Saturdays Free Tours: The Hope School (1892)
Located at 125 Ruthsburg Road (Route 304) in Centreville near Queen Anne's County High School, this one-room schoolhouse may have served African American students grades 1 – 7 as early as 1865. Originally located on Hope Road, the school closed in 1938 and was restored by the Retired Teachers Association.
