SKRIBE Cassette Release Party

April 16, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

$15

SKRIBE IS BACK IN TOWN with a new album in hand. The raw one-man band EP titled “Garage Folk” was recorded live to 2″ tape at Battletapes in Nashville, Tennessee last October. “I booked one 10-hour session & setup as if I were playing a show. The idea was to get raw live takes of the one-man garage set that I’ve been honing for years.” says Aaron/Skribe. Jeremy Ferguson at Battletapes has worked with Cage The Elephant, Joshua Hedley, & Pujol to name a few. To keep the Nashville energy going, Skribe had the EP mastered by the great John Baldwin (who has worked with Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, The White Stripes, Ricky Skaggs, Adrian Belew, Motley Crue, and hundreds of others). It’s only fitting that an album recorded to tape at a studio called Battletapes would be released as a cassette tape!

Join us for the raddest cassette release party since 1994. The limited run of 300 translucent yellow tapes feature a fold out poster/lyric sheet + an exclusive track that won’t be included on the streaming release.

“They call it “garage folk,” perhaps because the music is crafted without any more polish than it needs to showcase the allure of its soulfully delivered down-to-earth lyrics. The focus of Skribe’s sound is rhythmic acoustic strumming and plucking with emphatic vocals that epitomize the musical landscape of the area’s small-town city feel.”
