Queen Anne’s County Watermen’s Association is hosting a Basket Painting Day on Sunday November 14th from 11 am-2 pm in Grasonville MD at the VFW. For $70 you can get your own basket, painting supplies ,refreshments and snacks. The baskets are to be themed nautical, holiday, or in memory/in honor of a loved one.

If you will not be able to join in on the basket painting day you can also purchase baskets on November 7th and November 14th from 9 am to 2 pm at the Grasonville VFW. The cost is $50 per basket and for $20 extra you can get one of the volunteers to paint the basket for you. A drop off only date of November 20th from 9-2 at the Grasonville VFW is also available.

Additionally, you can purchase baskets and return them to the Chesapeake Heritage and Visitors Center at 425 Piney Narrows Road in Chester weekdays from 10 am – 4 pm from November 7th to November 24. Please make checks payable to QACWA. (NO Cash can be taken at this location)

The baskets will be assembled on the Fisherman’s Inn property in the Kent Narrows. A tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for December 4th for the community and visitor’s to see.
