Juneteenth Festival and Kennard Library “Giving Day”

The Juneteenth Festival & Kennard Library “Giving Day” will be June 11th at the Kennard African American Cultural Heritage Center an Museum. This event features the opening exhibition of “The Kent Narrows Shanty Project” and new exhibits that will offer stories of African American military bravery, entrepreneurship, sporting excellence, and community spirit. There will be vendors, including food trucks, merchandise and food for sale. This celebration is an opportunity to educate and offer dialogue with all citizens and reflect on the shared history in Queen Anne’s County. This is a free community event.
The Kennard African American Cultural Heritage Center is creating a new African American History Resource library and asking for donations of books, periodicals, and videos about or by African Americans. Please look for “Local African American Heroes video series to be available soon.
