Historic Christ Church to Receive Funds from 2025 Maryland House & Garden Pilgrimage
July 30 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
STEVENSVILLE, MD – The Queen Anne’s County Historical Society, in proud partnership
with the 2025 Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage, is delighted to announce a
presentation of funds to Friends of Historic Christ Church on Monday, July 7, 2025, at
6:30 PM. This symbolic and celebratory event will take place on-site at Christ Church in
Historic Stevensville.
Since its incorporation in 1937, the Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage has
remained true to its mission: to support and preserve Maryland’s cultural and
historically significant properties and landscapes. Over the decades, this statewide
nonprofit has channeled hundreds of thousands of dollars raised through immersive house
and garden tours directly toward the long-term care of more than 150 historic sites.
This year’s Pilgrimage tour in Queen Anne’s County once again demonstrated the
organization’s commitment to preservation. Proceeds were raised through the generosity of
the iconic bell tower of Historic Christ Church—a cherished architectural and cultural
landmark in our community.
“Our mission is to protect and honor the tapestry of Maryland’s heritage,” said Penny Lins,
President of the Queen Anne’s County Historical Society. “Through this collaboration with
the Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage, the Kent Island Heritage Society and the
Stevensville Garden Club we directly invest in the enduring legacy of this sacred site.”
The check presentation event is free and open to the public. Media representatives are
encouraged to attend, cover the celebration, and speak with society officers and church
representatives about this meaningful restoration initiative.
Historic Christ Church is located at 121 East Main Street, Stevensville, MD.
