Shantytowns Exhibit
Please join us for a special viewing of the exhibit. Beginning in the 1930s, African Americans, both native and migrant, worked in over twenty seafood packing plants on Kent Narrows in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland. Many of these laborers also lived in housing on-site provided by the plant owners. The housing, commonly referred to as “shanties”, formed the basis of a community which existed for nearly fifty years, until the last shanties were razed. This community, including Black watermen…

Opening Day Celebration - Spring Fling is May 6th from 10 am to 3 pm. A door dedication in honor of James Casey will be held at 11 am. A Bake sale and Corn Grinding Demonstrations will be held too. Come see the Good Basket Raffle. Their will be Children's Activities also. Available for purchase: Flour, Grists honey, jams, maple syrup, pottery and other gifts.

Saturday, August 19th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and join the staff of Old Wye Mill for its Ancient Grains and Local Products Festival. Celebrating more than 340 years of transforming wheat into flour and corn into meal using 140-year old millstones at Old Wye Mill.
